Amy Butler's Frenchy Bag

Last month I had the privilege of doing a pattern review for Sew Mama Sew for their July Bag Month.

I had to make Amy Butler's Frenchy Bag and if you go on over to Sew Mama Sew's blog, you will find my review - and maybe you might read it.

I took this bag on holidays (vacation for our northern hemisphere readers) with me, and I found it invaluable. Its appearance is very deceiving as it holds so much 'stuff'. I couldn't believe it. I had cameras, wallets, purses, makeup and you name it in there - and I still had room.

I highly recommend this bag. There are two bag patterns, hand bag and I made the shoulder bag. It is so easy and so good to use. It is my absolute favourite (til I find another one I like, that is.)

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Thanks for the review! Now I know what to make for the next round of presents. I've got the pattern languishing in my pile, but still haven't got around to doing anything about it.

the bags looks FAB! I bought the pattern from SMS when it first came out, started to make the bag and messed it up and never went back..... I'm going to give it another go (thanks to you)

Hello, found you off Jade's blog. Love the bag too, I'm getting more into fabric bags too, but still love my PVC Posie Totes. Have you seen the new Amy Butler Nigella range?? Mine started arriving this week, it's glorious!! Just the right weight for durable fabric bags & that Frenchy style. Pop over to my blog & show your boys our holiday snaps - what 4 little school children get up to right up the top of Australia. Crocodile farms of course!! Love Posie

I made this bag last week. I have had so many requests to make more. The pattern is so easy and the fabrics are beautiful. I found the pockets a bit much though and adapted it to suit my style. I kept the big pocket on one side and made a pocket just right for a cellphone on the other.
