Should I or Shouldn't I?

This is the question I have been asking myself since the weekend - the question is 'should I post about one of my children's proudest achievements and take the chance that I sound like an over indulgent mama? or should I just post about it anyway and let you who read my blog decide what sort of mama I am.

Well, here goes - My middle son, Ciaran (12 y.o.) plays Australian Rules Football and his team won their Grand Final on Sunday. It was such an achievement to make it into the grand final and then just the icing on the cake to actually win it, which they did convincingly. The whole team played brilliantly and as a team and I think that this is what I am most proud of. There were certainly no 'I''s in this team and that is why they won. They all played a part in their team's magnificent win.

There has been so much negativity lately in the media, about the 'ugly' parent that is said to be found at children's sports and games. On Sunday at this game, it was lovely to see that there was none of that attitude present, and that it was such a positive experience for every body present, especially all of us very proud mamas.

Okay, so now I have said it and confessed to all and I am still a very proud mum! Well done boys!

I always feel so sad at the end of the football season as it can only mean one thing - the 'dreaded' cricket season is about to begin which to me, is like watching paint dry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A craft post next time, I promise!

well done boys! I have no idea about football(unless its soccer going under the heading football which I think depends on where you're from right?!)Husband on the other hand is a Melbournite(that is so not a real word)and he loves the football and watching paint dry : )You'll just 'craft' your way through the 'creams' (whites??) season won't you : )

Nice one! What a lovely achievement.

I have all this to look forward to in years to come. Though I do hope its footy and not cricket - I'm right there with you on the paint drying thing.

And a very proud mum you SHOULD be!!! Congratulations to all the boys -- what an achievement!

I'm sorry to say though...if I lived in AU I'd probably be a cricket mum. I'm told it's a lot like our baseball? I viewed it as a big puzzle -- I occupied my paint drying moments by trying to figure out the mind games going on behind the scenes LOL!

Super fabulous job for your middle boy and it sounds like a great group of boys and their families. Cricket - hmmmm time like that I enjoy being the mother of only girls!! Take a quilting project or a good book maybe?

Well done! And yes, you must be bursting with pride. I agree with you about the cricket, too. Except not too loudly, as the geezer loves it.

Is that your boy looking only at you taking the photo? Check out how he looks at you an no-one else. He looks so proud of himself and you too. You must be some special mother. Congrats to you both - we're up for netball finals this week (v exciting). Must agree on the cricket although both small boy and older girl love it - so I'm doomed for watching grass growing over next summer!!!

Of course you should!
Congrats to your boy (and you too as his proud mama!).
I love cricket season. The husband plays and for me it means afternoons spent sitting in the sun, reading or knitting and after enjoying a few champagnes with the other wives. Perfect way to spend the afternoon!
