Another Girls Day Out at Amitie

If you have found my blog by reading the latest issue of Living Creatively., hello and welcome, and thanks for dropping by. Living Creatively have done a wonderful article on Audrey & Maude and how it all came together. You can check it out here.

Louise and I had another day of classes these school holidays at Amitie teaching young girls some basic sewing skills. This time we had a morning class and an afternoon class due to the classes popularity.

This time we taught the girls how to make a simple pin cushion which the girls had to hand stitch. They then let their imagination run wild with ribbons, feathers, and felt and look what they created. I was so proud of all these young girls - they really are so very talented. It really did give me a buzz at the end of the class to watch these girls proudly show their mums what they had achieved.

Of course, one of the highlight of the class is the morning or afternoon tea - cupcakes and pink meringues - always a huge success.

Wow! Your girls have all done such a fantastic job. Clearly a product of the quality of instruction!!!

I love the things that you do in these classes - I'm sure they will treasure the things that they've made with you.

I think I must have very juvenile taste in food though - yet again I would have liked to have attended your class for the food on offer (I have been making pink meringues today for a party on Friday...you are a wonderful (although fattening) culinary influence upon me! x

I called into Amitie on Tuesday but you weren't there, which was a shame.
I had the boys with me and they were under threat of death to behave, which they did.
I hope to pop in again soon.

Lovely article in Living Creatively.

Your pincushion class looked like fun (especially with sustenance like that provided!). Didn't the girls come up with some amazing things? How clever!

Congratulations on inspiring a new band of young crafters! What lovely pincushions they've made.

P.S. Congratulations on the Living Creatively article and I hope you also had a lovely anniversary. (The pictures look wonderful).

Thank you thank you for the selvedge deliciousness you sent along with Louise and apologies for taking so long to say thanks - no computer for four days does not go down well I must say.
How creative are those girls - you might need to add them to your design team LOL.

How bizarre. I am trying to comment on your post on your trip to Bright (which I read through Bloglines), but your blog is not showing the post! Bright is one of my all-time favourite places. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Where did all of you stay, if you don't mind me asking? I would like to get my extended family together there one day too.
