Retro Dishcloths

A while back now, Louise, sent with her gorgeous apron, for the apron swap, a beautiful handknitted dishcloth. I didn't really want to use it because it looked so lovely sitting in the beautiful pink apple basket, but my mum convinced me that the handknitted ones were really fantastic to use in the kitchen. Well, I did and now I am convinced that they are the best dishcloths you can get. So, I have got my left over cotton from other projects and have knitted these two beauties. I have actually knitted two others, but these were the ones that actually turned out okay. I am so pleased with the result. So thanks Louise, now, I can't stop knitting these cloths. I highly recommend them - I can't believe how they do such a good job. Maybe our grandmothers did have something way back when!!! I guess that is all they would have had. But the best thing is that now I can colour co-ordinate my kitchen with my dishcloths.!

I was in my garden today as it was such a gorgeous day, playing with my gorgeous puppy, so I snapped a few photos to show you.

A friend of mine said to me the other day ' that when your last one starts school, you either have an affair or get a puppy!!!! I am so glad I have my little puppy.

your puppy is such a cutie. I've been wanting to knit a dishcloth in ages, but not being a knitter has kind of stopped me! lol

Hi, thanks for visiting me. Your knitted dishcloths look great, something else to add to my 'would like to make one day' list . . . Your puppy looks adorable!

I've never heard that saying, but it's sure cute. I was going to say you get in a lot less trouble with a new puppy, but...well....maybe not??? He's sure adorable. Great dishcloths too!

how cute is your puppy - hope they got your breed right unlike ours - who is meant to be a whippet cross jack russell but we have now been informed that due to her non stop growth and markings she is a whippet cross blue heeler!!!

Gorgeous puppy and surely easier than an affair - seriously , how much would an affair cut into the crafting time !!1

Love the dishcloths! I made an apple one a while back, and for a knovice knitter like me, it made me feel sooo talented, except I don't wanna use 'em now. :P
Yeah, bah to affairs, one man is enough trouble! argh!

ps. puppy = cuteness!
pps. Joanne, a whippet heeler cross sounds cute!

I'm so glad you are using it. I of course, don't have one of my own. Did you find a pattern for the other two or did you design them yourself and what brand of cotton did you use? Great colours.
That puppy is just adorable, what a lovely little friend to have around.

Cathy, Love your puppy! I just read your comment on my blog - OH WOW!! Don't you love the internet? I went to Zetland Primary and then to Rye Hills, maybe at the same time as your hubby? We were in Ings Road, and I know Warwick Rd! Think your spelling of HuttonleyHole is correct!!

Cathy, your husband is the same age as my older (by 2 years)Brother (Tim Falkingham) so they would have been in the same year. I'll check with Tim and see if he remembers.
