Operation Cubby
Sunday we saw our beloved little cubby find a new home - our family has grown out of it and now it is time to pass it on to another family.
Moving it was a problem all of its own. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
And yes, the wagon wheels were used to help move it!!!!
It's amazing that such a simple job could take so long with so many helpers!!!!
And a few happy snaps of some things I have been working on.
I made the shirt for my 6 year old from the Finnish magazine Ottobre which you can buy from here. After you have navigated the pattern sheet and found what you are supposed to be cutting out, it is relatively easy. I am going to attempt to make some more of these - maybe in some linen.
The name's Bond - James Bond!!!!

That's a great-looking shirt, Cathy! Love those buttons you used...gives it that safari-style. And he's such a cutie with the posing. Did you tell him to pose like that?
Cathy that is gorgeous!! What a cool looking young man he is and I love the colour. Well done! I will get to the meme soon - Daph has croup!!
ANy tips for navigating those pesy Ottobre pattenr sheets? I've tried several times and it just freaks me out so I put it away and try to forget about it!

Oh Cathy -- the shirt is beautiful. You've done an excellent job! It's so nice to see patterns with detail being sewn. And thanks for the cupcake porn in your previous post! LOL.
what a huge job to move the cubby out! And great job on the shirt! I am going to attempt a couple for my nephews!
Cute shirt!! Wow what a job on moving the house. It looks like it must have been fun to play in!
Bye cubby - That shirt looks so professional - just letting you know my blog has changed names to 'sew mad'. So when you click on 'thirties green' it won't take you there. You will have to change the link by clicking here. That's if your still interested in my ramblings!! Cheers Donna
It's good to hand on things, even cubby's. What an operation!
Your sewing is fabulous, and young master 6 looks very smart indeed.
The shirt looks awesome Cathy! I really love the colour that you've used.
That's one big cubby house! It's sad when your little children grow out of cubbies, but I'm sure the next family will receive a lot of enjoyment out of it.
P.S. Having only boys made you eligible for my latest tag -- but for some reason I'm thinking you don't like them -- so, if that's true, just ignore me! ;-)
Love the shirt ... oh and Mr Bond, James Bond!
