More Photos

Here are some photos of a swap I did with Marianne -

I made the older two girls some Little Jammies from this pattern.

This is such a great pattern. Very easy to follow and one pattern contains sizes from Size 1 to 12. It is also unisex. I have lost count of how many pairs I have made now.

These jammies are made from fabric from Amitie, of course. The pink set is Japanese - Lecien (I think) and the blue/green pair is Moda Swell range.

The elephant's name is Eloise and is a brand new pattern from Audrey & Maude (details to follow soon) - and the bib is just scraps from other projects.

And for all of you who have been asking about my new camera it is a Canon EOS 40D - the lens is 17mm - 85mm. I find it quite heavy on my wrist but the result is certainly worth it. It isn't a camera to throw into the purse!

Aprons and Mod Girls

Photos courtesy of Lululollylegs.

Can you believe what I received in the May One Hour Craft Apron Swap, because I certainly can't?

This apron was made for me by my lovely 'new' 'blogger' friend Louise at Lululollylegs. I cannot believe how beautiful this really is and all the effort that Louise has put into making this masterpiece. She also made me the beautiful knitted dish cloth, a pink (my favourite) cookie cutter and recipe which all came in a beautiful pink apple shaped basket. The ruffles and gathers on the apron have to be seen to be believed, and the best thing about this apron, is that it is reversible. I just love the darts in the bodice and all the little details that Louise has done. The sewing is just beautiful.

It is so hard to believe that Louise does not know me in person, as this apron and everything she has sent to me, is just so 'me'. In a house full of males, it is so lovely to see the apron on my peg in the kitchen. The fabric is just gorgeous and I just love the way Louise has co-ordinated all the fabrics together so well. It truly is a beautiful piece of work (too good to use!!!)

So a very big thank you Louise, please, please be my swap partner again?

Apron Swap

I am part of One Hour Craft's Apron Swap. I seriously didn't know what I was getting myself into when I decided to join, but I thought what the heck, and joined anyway. My swap partner is the lovely Louise and I received such a welcoming email from her telling me about herself, that my doubts were soon gone . I actually think that we have a lot in common. I have three boys - she has three girls!!!! She lives in Melbourne too and makes gorgeous things - check out her blog Lululollylegs. She is a very clever knitter and sewer and by the sounds of things - chef too.

I didn't have to worry too much after that. We emailed a few times and I got to know Louise thru her blog. Now the hard part - what sort of apron will I make for Louise? My first thoughts were 'retro' 'domestic goddess' type of apron, so I started planning and designing this in my head. Then thru an email that I received from Louise, I found out that she loved '
Anna Maria Horners' 'Chocolate Lollipop' range of fabric. Quickly I dropped the 'retro' apron idea, and that morning created this (photo courtesy of Louise - doesn't she look gorgeous in it). I had so much fun making and designing this apron. I didn't realise that I could actually 'interpret' a fabric and come up with a designbased on that interpretation. I appliqued little chocolates on the bottom, and coming out of the pocket, I appliqued a 'big lollipop'.

I suffer from severe depression (which started out as postnatal but that is another story), so when I received the email from Louise telling me that she had received the apron and how much she loved it, my confidence was boosted unbelievably. Thanks Louise for your kind comments. They mean so much to me.

It has been a lovely experience and I will of course be joining in more swaps in the future. And as for Louise, I have made a lovely friend who just lives across town from me. Maybe we could arrange a bloggers meet too.

Brown Paper Packages .....

The postlady has just been and I received 2 parcels. It was my fabric swap for the Flibbertygibbet Swap #3 partner's parcel - thankyou so much Anna. She has obviously been reading my blog because she knows I have three boys and has sent them some lovely goodies for them. I will have to make up something with the fabric for them as well - with the lovely co-ordinated fabric that was sent. Thank you so much, Anna. I am looking forward to reading your blog, and getting to know a new friend in a different country. This is my first swap - so I have been very eager to see what the mailman will bring.

Flibbertygibbet Fabric Swap #3

Here is a sneak peak of what I have sent to Marvellous Mouse and Dawn for the Flitterbygibbet Fabric Swap #3.

This is my first swap - so I am not really sure of what happens next. Guess I will have to just wait and see.
